A
DREAM IN THE MAKING….
“You know I had this cute little stuffed animal
named Charlie when I was in the 2nd grade. I remember it just like
it was yesterday….. Charlie was a puppy with a button nose and red overalls.
He was my absolute favorite! Wherever I went, Charlie was not far behind. And
then tragedy struck… I lost my beloved Charlie!! I never did quite recover
from that day!” Ever since I
can recall, furry friends were a constant valued part of our family. There
was never a day that I was not greeted after school by a cold wet nose, and a
sloppy wet kiss! I always knew that one day my love for animals would turn
into a career. Veterinarian?
No. With 4 years in the military working as a Medical Lab tech, I’ve had my
fill of hospital settings. I need to be out and about, something a little
more creative and free spirited. I want to be
able to be with dogs, enjoying them while they do what they do best. Simply
enjoying life! I firmly believe nobody takes the most advantage of life than
a dog! When dogs are happy, you see it, you feel. It is expressed in
everything that they do! This has been
my dream, and despite what many have said, I need to go for it. Could you
imagine what kind of world we would live in if nobody set out to follow their
dreams? If you are
planning on taking extended leave, or are just in need of daycare, please
allow me to put your worries at ease knowing that your pet will be in the
best of care! And not to worry; I’ve come a long way from Charlie!! GET

LOVES OF MY LIFE
Hometown: Goals: To be able to open and
successfully run an Animal Shelter! Heroes: My mother (this business was
also her dream), she has given me my love for animals; she is strong, but
compassionate! Thanks Mom!! Yes, I am
from When I was
finally able to move out of the dorms and into an apartment, my very first
quest was to find myself a friend! Browsing through the list of adoptable
dogs at the Bexar county Humane Society, I happened upon “Snapple”. I had to
do a double take at the picture. A Bull
Terrier!! My dreams had come true!!
Don’t worry, it’s not really vodka! *She seems to be the brunt of my jokes huh?* This is Nalu! The name Snapple just brought back too many bad
memories for us, and I’m sure for her as well! She had been a victim of
animal abuse and her previous owner had surrendered her, reason being that
they had too many animals. Don’t even let me get started with that! Let’s
just say she will never have to worry about that again! Well, time
had passed and we were more than happy with our little girl and we had no
plans on expanding our family. My how quickly things can change! While
driving through the Wal-mart parking lot we
happened upon a couple giving away puppies. My husband convinced me to pull
over and I was hesitant, but there we found ourselves surrounded by little
bundles of fur.
“Kinda looks like a bad
yearbook picture, doesn’t it?” Enter Onyx! Yes, could the name be any more obvious!? My little boy! He’s the kind of dog that even at 4 in the morning still has the energy of 100 power plants! Not only is he the energizer bunny, but he is an Einstein! I swear it took me 5 minutes to teach him to sit, shake and lay down. No exaggeration! He is a well rounded pup!
Welcome to the family!
Curly started out as our foster dog, but now we are proud to call him our own. Curly got along so well with Onyx, that they became best friends and we didn't have the heart to seperate them! We just couldn't picture him with anyone else. SO, ENOUGH about me and my dogs! I want to get to know you and
your little (or big) bundle of joy(s)! |
